A collection of recipes from events and some of our family favourites

Seriously addictive nuts
These crunchy sweet nuts are on constant rotation in our house ready to adorn salads, nourish bowls, yoghurt cups or just to curb sweet cravings. They can be made in an oven or dehydrator both with great results.
Word to the wise, double the batch.

Showstopper
Need a centrepiece for an event or feeding a crowd?
Look no further than this whole Pumpkin, adorned with piles of fresh herbs and scattered in crunchy nuts and drizzled in creamy paprika cashew cream.
Cut and serve wedges just like cutting a cake.

Family favourite
This is a great sauce to have on hand in the fridge for pouring over vegetables, rice or meats, it thickens really well so it has versatility for different applications. Try whole cauliflowers, chicken wings, chickpeas etc.
The tahini gives a really nutty flavour and something different to the usual coconut based curries. Feel free to play with the curry volumes to spice it up or dull it down for the family.

Mid week Meat free
This curry came about when I needed a flavourful curry while adhering to some quite particular dietary guidelines at an event.
The vegetables give a real sweetness and if you want to push that further you can roast the vegetables before adding to the curry sauce so they caramelise and get a nice and chewy and extra sweet.

Sticky Umami Deliciousness
Argh! I can't even properly do justice to how delicious and flavourful this dish is. First created to feed a hungry room of Defence Force personnel, I keep goping back as the pairing of miso paste and maple syrup is so mouthwatering.
Like all recipes you can play with the volumes of sweet/salty as much as you want.
I like to make double the Glaze and use some as a dressing when serving, you can bump it up with extra tamari or even some chilli.

Dinner & Luchbox
I'm all for making food not just delicious but beautiful and a simple family frittata can be elevated by making a few simple tweaks.
Ribbons of zucchini and carrot have been used to swirl and decorate and not just sink away to the bottom of the frittata.
Egg based dishes like this are so transportable and can go from dinner to lunch boxes all year round.

Dinner & Luchbox
To save time through the week, roast some extra vegetables on the weekend to enable dishes like this. Pumpkin and feta are a great pairing, the sweetness of pumpkin and salty crumbly feta have long been used in conjunction.

The best kale salad ever
We have been making a version of this salad for over 10 years, it's creamy and filling and keeps really well so we can have it for days in the fridge for lunches and dinner.
If your're not a lover of kale, you will be after this. The lentils add a heartyness to the salad and the mixed seeds add a good crunch.

Something Sweet
I'm not a big sweet tooth but this cake has been a staple in our house as birthday cakes, afternoon tea treats or piled high with berries for events.
It freezes really well and can be stored for up to 1 week in the fridge.
Being so rich from the coconut milk and cashews, I like to cut the cake in small pieces or make it in tiny silicon muffin moulds so the portions are smaller.
I have to make mention of Jo Whitton from Quirky Cooking who has been making this style of cake for years and it always such a source of inspiration, while this isn't her recipe, I'm sure it wouldn't be here without her.

Aka - Dinosaur Eggs
Not much to say that these eggs can't say for themselves. They are jewels ready to adorn your salads or make your kids smile.
